4th and 5th Grade Reading Literacy Curriculum/Unit & Lesson Plans

$25.00

Description

This literacy unit (with lesson plans) is designed to show students how reading is about listening and understanding, as well as developing culture of literacy in the classroom and at home. In fourth and fifth grade students will analyze character traits to understand how the plot moves along. Comparing and contrasting ideas help readers build understanding about the text. There are similarities and differences among stories that help students make personal connections and can teach students that reading can go beyond text.
This unit is designed to cover grade-level standards using recommended picture books links. The recommended picture books can all be used, used in a different order, or can be replaced by your own if your classroom! I have used this literacy unit in my own classroom and with my student I homeschool.
